We made the frontpage! In June of 2006 we paddled some 150 miles down the low waters of the Oconee River with a multitude of friends over two weeks. We persevered through Tropical Storm Alberto - enjoyed the cool air it brought - and survived sweltering temperatures of over 100 degrees. Learn more about our trek from our fellow surveyor and writer, Ben Emanuel, in his Flagpole Magazine article: "Two Weeks On The Oconee: No Matter If There's Water In It." |
| In Fall 2005, one of our members, Ben Emanuel, went down the Savannah River with the Savannah Riverkeeper's Executive Director, Frank Carl, and many others on the annual Coastal Plain Meander. Ben served as the crew's Naturalist, as well as preliminary information gatherer for a possible ecological survey. Read about Ben's Savannah venture here: "Meandering Down The Savannah." |
